The Dovado USB Mobile Broadband Router (UMR) enables you to maximize the potential of your existing 3G USB modem by sharing out the single connection offered by your mobile operator. As a wireless networking router, the UMR is capable of hosting a wide range of wireless and wired computers and devices that require an internet connection, without any need for extra software on your computers in order to go online with Internet. Your single subscription for mobile broadband can therefore act as an always-on point of access within the home or office environment, and no longer be tied up to only one computer at a time.
Connectivity
The UMR offers four Ethernet ports in the form of a 10/100Mbps Ethernet switch, and also 802.11b/g WiFi for local wireless speeds of 54Mbps. In addition to which, the two USB ports provide full-power capability for your mobile USB modem. From here, your UMR will connect to your mobile broadband operator and provide all the clients in your network with the best possible internet access.
Quick and easy setup
With the help of an embedded Setup Wizard, the UMR can be quickly configured for Internet access as well as providing you the ability to secure your Wireless LAN with ease.
Network and Security
As your network should be secured from the rest of the world, the UMR hosts a firewall to cordon off any unwanted intrusion, however also allows you to open up ports of communication towards any servers and webcams you wish to partially expose to others out on the Internet. The included DHCP server will allow users on your network to be automatically assigned a private IP address, thus not requiring any manual configuration for each individual computer in order to access the Internet.
